Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)

Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)

  • Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a framework that our district uses to give targeted support to all students to help them be successful both in and out of the classroom. It focuses on the “whole child”, which means that it supports academic growth but many other areas, too. These include behavior, social-emotional skills, and attendance.
  • MTSS organizes our schools through systems and teams, which helps us better understand data to provide the necessary support for each individual.
  • Our supports are organized in a tiered model, which looks like the following:
    • Tier I- High quality instruction that all students receive
    • Tier II- Targeted, small group support for some students
    • Tier III- Intensive, individual interventions for a few students
