Bus Garage Vote Results

VOTE RESULTS – December 14, 2023, 12:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.

 

Mr. Greg Giles, Chief Election Inspector, declared the polls open at 12:00 p.m. At 9:00 p.m. he declared the polls closed. 

 

Election inspectors Mr. William Buchko and Mr. Dax Phillips verified that the 10 absentee ballots received by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023 met the requirements. The absentee ballot envelopes were opened and the folded absentee ballots were placed in the ballot box. 

 

The ballot box was unlocked and the ballots were reconciled by election inspectors Mr. William Buchko, Mr. Dax Phillips and District Clerk Leslie Ferrante. The 207 ballots in the ballot box reconciled with the 197 voters that signed the voter register plus the 10 absentee ballots that were added to the ballot box.

 

Election inspectors Mr. William Buchko, Mr. Dax Phillips and District Clerk Leslie Ferrante completed the tallying of the vote. There were    5 public in attendance.

 

At 9:18 p.m. Mr. Greg Giles read the results of the December 14, 2023 Capital Project Vote as follows:

 

Proposition:  PASSED  -  YES VOTES: 155         NO VOTES: 50  
                       INVALID BALLOTS: 2 

Shall the following resolution be adopted to wit:

 

Resolved that the Board of Education of the Gananda Central School District is hereby authorized to undertake certain capital improvements consisting of construction and reconstruction of school buildings and facilities, including, without limitation, the construction of a new Transportation Facility, interior improvements at all school buildings, various site improvements and the acquisition of certain original furnishings, equipment, and apparatus and other incidental improvements required in connection therewith for such construction and school use, all at an estimated maximum aggregate cost of $16,705,000; and to appropriate and expend from the existing capital reserve fund $1,200,000 for such costs, and that the balance of such cost, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax to be collected in annual installments, with such tax to be offset by state aid available therefor; and, in anticipation of such tax, debt obligations of the school district as may be necessary not to exceed $15,505,000 shall be issued.
