Kelly Carpenter, Gananda’s Chief Academic Officer, was the recipient of the 2025 Genesee Valley ASCD Curriculum Award at their Annual Banquet on May 8th. This award recognizes Ms. Carpenter for her dedication to education and unwavering commitment to student success in the Gananda School District and beyond.

As with most families of children in multiple sports, weekends are attacked with a plan - divide and conquer. For the Gananda family of Peyton and Haley Conner, the weekend of March 8 saw them splitting their time between Ithaca for Peyton’s NY State Swim Meet and Staten Island for Haley’s NY State Indoor Track Meet. Opposite ends of the state, but a fantastic problem to have with two high achieving student-athletes.

We are proud to announce that Tori Ferguson has been awarded one of the six esteemed scholarships presented by the Wayne-Finger Lakes Superintendents' Association.

For Mrs. Peterson’s AP Bio class, their partnership project with the University of Buffalo (UB) started in September, where they took water samples and collected Metadata from the stream at Channing Philbrick Park in Penfield.
